This week I can’t get The Howlers out of my head. One of my favourite bands. I was lucky enough to meet the lads last year for the podcast and they exceeded my expectations. Not only are they sensational live, but they’re incredible human beings. Funny, kind and so easy to talk to, always making time for their fans.
After that, I’ve been keeping up with the band and loving the music they’re releasing in the lead up to their debut album. Last week they released ‘Cowboys Don’t Cry’ and it hit me like a sledge hammer. It’s so beautiful and has become a permanent part of my playlist for getting through the day.
I normally try to keep Song for The Week light, but life’s not that simple. And Cowboys Don’t Cry sums that up perfectly. It’s an incredibly personal song from the frontman Adam, but one I think we can all relate to. If you’ve ever felt like the odd one out, like you can’t see where you belong in the world or feel lost… this songs for you.
“The game’s never fair when you’re dealt the final blow. But I don’t think that you could ever make it on your own.”
Thanks to The Howlers, now whenever you feel like you’re not enough, like all your hard work is going nowhere or that you’re alone in the world you can lean on Cowboys Don’t Cry to carry you through.
