When I’m feeling a little dramatic or even the complete opposite, maybe needing some excitement, this is all I need. I know I can press play, do a little salsa dance, throw my hand to my head and lean against a door frame. Like a starlet from a black and white film. Maybe even do a little sigh.
The song possesses all the drama I need to exit the real world and enter my fantasy film noir, as the protagonist, of course.
The tango energy leads me to whirl around my front room, in my imagination I’m one of the Strictly pros, although I’m sure it’s much more Anne Widdecombe like for any onlookers.
The sound is so full and so cinematic, with an orchestra in the mix it feels epic. The line “Now I am craving heartbreak, while you’re making your demands” hits my stomach like a dagger with only just enough time to recover from the near fatal wound to continue my passionate narration.
Contrary to the title, I am not calm at all during this song. My heart races to the rhythm until the final chord, I’m effervescent in a way that makes me certain this is a great song.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, good music for me is all about the feeling you get. And I feel every beat of this one.
